United Martial Arts Center Parents Review

We have been part of UMAC for almost six years.
My son was the first UMAC student; he  began Karate when he was in 2nd Grade.
Over the years Kent has grown in size and strength, but most importantly, through the incredible leadership of Master C., he has grow in character, respectfulness,
 confidence and leadership abilities.
Kent has now achieve a 1st degree Black Belt ranking and has learned many skills and lessons that will carry him through life.
As schedules get
busier and time is more precious, he still has the desire to maintain his time in Karate so that will not lose the skills that he has been taught.

The idea behind martial arts is not that you just to tone your body and become able to defend yourself, it’s also that you learn good values such as perseverance. Perseverance requires more than just dedication and drive, some times it requires, the help and friendship of the people around. And at the UMAC I have found that kind of friendship. I have an autoimmune condition and have spent weeks at a time in the hospital. I have worked and trained harder and I have achieved the great accomplishment of passing my black belt exam. But when time came for promotion I had a relapse and wound up back in the hospital. Chief instructor of the UMAC, Robert Cosenza, made a trip out to the hospital and promoted me there.
Like I said earlier another major part of martial arts is building bonds and relationships with the people around you. At the untied martial arts I believe that I have mad bonds that will last me a life time, karate has also helped me to come more out of my shell.

The journey from white belt to black belt was a long four year   journey. And while it may seem like a long time, the years just flew by.
And aside from the friendship aspect, karate hits hard on a personal level. Its more than just a place I go to train, I also go there two times a week,    because that hour is like a release for me of all the weeks stress. I can’t recall a bad   karate class. The UMAC is the best studio that I have trained at, we work hard and sometimes play harder, and I keep going back because I love to go, I couldn’t imagine training else where.

Karate has been a very important part of our lives in the past.

“As a retired Karate Master Instructor (Sensei Roy William)  I was very selective in finding a  qualified Martial Arts School.

Walk in UMAC bring me back to old memories; I recall when I first walked into Brooklyn Academy where I met my Instructor Kaicho, I was so enthusiastic and now having my son   training in UMAC I can  feel the same excitement on him.”Christian is always very ecstatic when is time to get ready for Karate.UMAC It’s A great family that we are very proud to be part of.
